During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can
also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.
* WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between
3 and 6 inches in northern Portage county and 1 to 3 inches in
southern Trumbull County. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Portage County.
* WHEN...From 1 PM Thursday to 7 PM EST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions
could impact Thanksgiving travel. Gusty winds could bring down
tree branches.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snow is expected Thursday
evening when snowfall rates could briefly reach 1 inch per hour at
times.
