Embarras River at Lawrenceville affecting Lawrence County. .Heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches fell over the Embarras River basin over the last couple of days, and this has caused rapid rises. Minor flooding on the lower reaches of the basin will develop this afternoon, and continue into early next week. The following forecasts are based on observed precipitation, soil moisture conditions, and forecast precipitation. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Embarras River at Lawrenceville. * WHEN...From this afternoon to Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 33.0 feet, Kelly's Lake Lane, 1160N, is inundated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 AM CST Thursday the stage was 29.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 33.1 feet early Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday afternoon. - Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
