The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Michigan...
Sturgeon River near Alston affecting Houghton and Baraga Counties.
Sturgeon River near Chassell affecting Houghton and Baraga
Counties.
Michigamme River near Crystal Falls (Michigamme) affecting Iron
County.
.Snow melt and increased reservoir releases will cause the river
flows to become high. Expect minor flooding downstream from the dam.
* WHAT...WE Energies will be releasing 50 cfs from Way Dam for the
next 24 hours to allow capacity for the forecast rainfall event
expected April 23 and 24 2026. This increase in flow will increase
water levels approximately one half inch in this river corridor.
This precautionary measure is needed to ensure the Dam has
capacity to handle incoming rainfall and snowmelt. Should you
experience flood damage, please contact 211 for instructions on
the use of the Self Reporting Damage App. Please only use 911 if
experiencing an emergency.

* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, 2700 cfs - River exceeds bankfull stage
At 8.0 feet, 3700 cfs - River begins to flood additional low lying
areas along the river bank
