White River at Edwardsport down to Hazleton. .Following heavy rainfall earlier this week...minor flooding continues on the lower White River...and on the East Fork White at Rivervale...with brief minor flooding expected on the East Fork White at Bedford Saturday night into Sunday. Flooding will end early next week on the East Fork White...and the White River at Edwardsport...while continuing into the mid-week at Petersburg and Hazleton. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...White River at Petersburg. * WHEN...Until early Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 20.5 feet, County Road 250 West from State Road 56 floods and blocks the vehicle access to Dodge City. During the March 2008 flood the river remained above this level from late afternoon March 19 through April 9. As mid-March 2011 high water was receding...SR 257 south of Washington reopened when Shoals was at 10.5 feet and falling steadily for the past 2 days. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM EDT Friday /7:45 PM CDT Friday/ the stage was 20.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:45 PM EDT Friday /7:45 PM CDT Friday/ was 20.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.6 feet just after midnight tonight.
