Urgency: Expected
Severity: Moderate
Certainty: Observed
6/5/2026 6:50:00 PM until 6/6/2026 6:00:00 AM
Dry, hot, and breezy conditions are expected Saturday. The ongoing
drought has led to abnormally dry dead surface fuels across the region.
Min RH values of 25 to 35%, wind gusts to around 20 mph, and afternoon
high temperatures mainly into the 90s will lead to increased fire
danger from mid morning through early evening Saturday. Conditions
Sunday may be similar ahead of an approaching cold front, with an
additional Increased Fire Danger statement likely to be issued.
Residents are urged to exercise caution handling any potential
ignition source...including machinery... cigarettes...and matches.
Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses
and tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread
quickly.
