At 813 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Newport, or 11
miles northeast of Bassett, moving southeast at 35 mph.
At 807 AM CDT, a 63 MPH wind gust was measured 9 miles north
northeast of Bassett.
HAZARD...Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Bassett, Stuart, Newport, Thomas Creek State Wildlife Management
Area, Mariaville, and Pony Lake.
