Areas of patchy fog have developed this morning, primarily across the northern Piedmont and northern Coastal Plain, for areas along and north of Interstate 40 and US Highway 64. The most widespread fog is in portions of the northern Triad into Person, Granville, Franklin, Nash, Vance, Warren, Halifax, Edgecombe, and Wilson Counties. Visibilities may be reduced at times to one quarter mile or less. If driving this morning, make sure to allow extra driving time to reach your destination. Reduce driving speeds, increase following distances and use only low beam headlights. Visibilities should improve by 9 am this morning.
