
Penalties.No person, other than a person authorized by the public health authority or agent of the public health authority, may enter an isolation or quarantine premises. A violation is subject to a fine not to exceed $10,000 or imprisonment not to exceed ninemonths, or both.
Police Power and Limitations.Expenses for necessary medical care, food and other articles needed for the care of the infected person shall be charged against the person or whoever is liable for the person's support.
Authority. The department of health shall have the following powers and duties: establish, maintain and enforce isolation and quarantine, and in pursuance thereof, and for such purpose only, to exercise such physical control over property and over the persons of the people within this state as the state health officer may find necessary for the protection of the public health.
Penalties.Any person or persons confined in any quarantine established in this state under the provisions of this act who shall escape therefrom or attempt to escape therefrom, without having been dismissed upon the certificate or authority of the county health officer may be charged with a crime. Upon conviction of a violation of this section, a person may be punished by a fine of not more than $500or imprisonment for not more than one year.
