Summary: The Assistant Controller will report to the Insurance Group Controller and will be responsible for internal and external financial reporting on a statutory and GAAP basis, internal control documentation, and insurance regulatory reporting.

Essential Functions: The Assistant Controller responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Management and oversight of Accounting and Financial functions for the organization Management and leadership for the general ledger accounting team including supervision of staff, i.e., progress reviews, necessary plans for improvement and team building Responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all internal and external financial reporting Oversee the documentation and testing of financial reporting controls Coordination of quarterly reviews of financial reporting activities Oversight of the preparation of monthly financial reports, including consolidated financial statements and cash flow statements Research on technical accounting issues Maintaining records of accounting policies and procedures Assisting in the communication with external auditors and the Controller
