Job Description: Claims handler How does this role contribute to our collective success? AXIS is a multinational insurance company with a focus on aviation insurance.
For our Claims Department we are looking for a passionate aviation claims handler to handle a variety of losses located here and across the world.
A high quality of claims handling is critical to AXIS' reputation and is a key differentiating factor for us in the highly competitive insurance markets.
You will have a unique role and as a claims handler contribute directly to AXIS' performance in this area and will be very visible in the team.
What will you do in this role? You will mainly be responsible for the examination and resolving of claims and accurately administer file reserves and payments.
You will deal with our different local and international insureds in the aviation sector (private owners, commercial operators, manufacturers, ground handlers, flying clubs etc.) through surveyors, lawyers and brokers.
In your job you will concentrate on the following tasks: Handling Hull and Liability claims (material damages to planes, personal injuries, third party damages) Assessing the general liability, passenger liability, corporate, product liability of insureds in connection with losses.
Ensuring the timely resolution of claims in coordination with involved parties Verifying and analysing expert and legal reports Maintaining, updating and following up on claims files Pro-actively communicating developments and outcomes to all key internal and external stakeholders Initiating claims payment Ensuring overall satisfaction of the broker and client and a fair claim settlement You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

Education: Insurance degree or job relevant degree Career level: Some existing experience in a claims department (non-life), in an insurance company, or brokerage firm German proficiency would be an asset Role Factors: In this role, you will receive in-house training.
You will be required to work some days per week in our Brussels office.
