Position Description:

The PAYROLL Administrative Assistant is a full-time non-exempt position performing Payroll functions for corporate payroll and Accounts Receivable functions for the National Account Services team at CorVel.

This is an in-office role at our Portland, OR location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be able to complete the following essential functions on a regular and consistent basis: Download and maintain copies of deposits from bank lockboxes and ACH reports, then key deposit information into Excel spreadsheets.

Process customer's remittance from either check copies or Excel remit files Research and resolve unidentified items as well as payroll questions Communicate promptly and clearly with internal and external parties on employee payroll, cash or customer issues.

Process simple to complex payroll calculations for retroactive pay Audit weekly changes report Scan mail daily and direct to appropriate department Process Manual checks as requested by payroll and/or accounting Requires regular and consistent attendance.

Comply with all safety rules and regulations during work hours in conjunction with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) Additional duties as required KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Basic knowledge and understanding of accounting procedures and policies Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate level Excel including v-lookups 10-key by touch Understanding of payment lockboxes and cash processing functions Attention to detail and ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining accuracy Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with teammates to accomplish goals Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, time management and organizational skills Must be able to work in an open environment while maintaining confidential items Problem solving skills and attention to detail Must be able to communicate clearly via written and verbal communication techniques Must be able to work independently to meet deadlines, demonstrate strong attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to follow-thru on assignments.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Preferred - Associate's degree in accounting or business related field Preferred - 2+ years of accounting experience in high volume ERP accounts receivable system Preferred - PeopleSoft Accounts Receivable knowledge and experience PAY RANGE: CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location.

Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions.

Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
