They are seeking forward-thinking Primary Casualty Underwriters of varying experience in Hartford to join their organization.

The Primary Casualty Underwriter is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining a profitable book of primary casualty business.

Responsibilities Meet and collaborate with wholesale agents & brokers to ensure high-quality submission opportunities Evaluate appropriate pricing and coverage terms for new and renewing business Monitor the performance of new business underwritten Evaluate the performance of in-force business and make appropriate underwriting decisions regarding renewal, pricing, non-renewal, or changes in coverage terms Meet production, marketing, and profitability goals Stay informed of industry, competitor, and claim trends to assess the attractiveness of risks being underwritten Skills &

Experience 4 to 9 years or 10+ years of commercial casualty underwriting experience Strong knowledge of commercial casualty underwriting coverages Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make well-informed, calculated risk decisions Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $85,000 – $200,000 Additional Benefits: Competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), flexible spending, short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, long-term care, paid parental leave, vacation, and other paid time off
