Summary This position is responsible for supporting the catastrophe modeling department by gathering data, executing computer programs, performing analysis and presenting findings What You'll Do Extract information from multiple company databases that will be used for executing catastrophe models.

This includes: working independently with large complex data sets; verifying the quality of input data/resolving anomalies, and understanding and explaining data quality issues prior to running the modeling software.

Import data, run analyses and generate outputs from catastrophe modeling software.

Work with IT to implement software upgrades.

Prepare documentation of data extraction and modeling processes.

Initiate changes in current data extraction and catastrophe modeling processes that will enhance the quality of the modeling data.

Assist with implementation of such improvements for the entire team.

Assist in analyzing and reporting catastrophe model results, draw conclusions and make recommendations for intermediate level analyses / special projects.

Find creative solutions to new assignments and present findings.

Work directly with internal customers to present work product in a clear, concise fashion with limited assistance from modeling supervisor.

Establish relationships with customers and colleagues Train entry level catastrophe modelers/assistants.

Maintain advanced knowledge of model workings, differences, functional capabilities and changes.

Develop basic understanding of industry trends related to catastrophe risk and their effects on company's operations.

What You'll Bring Minimum 2 years experience in catastrophe modeling field.

Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor's degree preferred in an analytical field (mathematics, engineering, actuarial science, economics, atmospheric or natural science).

Special Skill Requirement Strong working knowledge of catastrophe modeling software.

Excellent written/verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Excel and SQL; basic programming experience (R, Python, or similar).
