About the Role: Are you an experienced claims professional who thrives on resolving complex cases and making a meaningful impact? Join our dynamic claims team as a Senior Claims Representative, where you'll manage a diverse caseload and guide claims from investigation through resolution all while working within best practices and industry standards.
You'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely, fair, and legally compliant claim settlements that reflect our commitment to integrity and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Business Acumen: Builds strong relationships with insureds, claimants, agents, and industry professionals to ensure effective communication and resolution of claims.
Actively pursues ongoing training and professional development in claims handling.
Negotiation: Uses tactful, clear communication to negotiate settlements, manage complex claims, and represent the company professionally in legal or workers' comp proceedings.
Results-Oriented: Manages 200-275 claims from assignment to resolution, maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to best practices to achieve fair and efficient settlements.
Time & Priority Management: Balances multiple responsibilities such as interviewing, and securing personnel records from clients while maintaining timely and organized claim handling.
Decision Making: Exercises sound judgment in verifying coverage, setting reserves, and determining claim strategies.
Collaborates with supervisors and internal teams to ensure timely and effective claim resolution.
Qualifications:
Education: Continuing education in insurance-related courses such as IIA Certificate in General Insurance, Senior Claims Law Associate, and Associate in Claims courses and/or Workers' Compensation courses (PA 10, 11, 12, and 13) preferred Associate's degree in Claims and/or Senior Claims Law Associate designations preferred Adjuster's license or be willing to obtain one as required
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in claims handling.
Technical Knowledge & Skills: In-depth understanding of tort law, state regulations, and policy provisions.
Familiarity with insurance-related terminology across medical and legal contexts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management systems.
Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
