We are building an Agile DevOps team focused on supporting Serverless technologies at Liberty Mutual. We will evaluate different serverless technologies and deliver fully managed environments that provide high levels of security and cost efficiency to our development teams allowing them to focus on their applications and business logic. This will include enabling the configuration and deployment of serverless technologies via our existing software delivery pipelines. This job would be great for you if you are someone that is interested in a DevOps culture, software defined infrastructure and operational troubleshooting within an Agile development framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and operate a cloud-native platform that allows teams to focus on delivering business value rapidly

  • Analyze technical system problems, design and implement effective solutions

  • Handle end-to-end development, including coding, testing, and debugging during each iteration

  • Create and maintain technical documentation

  • Collaborate with a product owner and an autonomous team of engineers to find comprehensive solutions

  • Research technology and bring new ideas to the team

  • Possess an extensive understanding of the product and business goals which you can translate into technology decisions

  • Keep informed of advances in IT and Agile Engineering practices. Maintain an understanding of current technologies, trends, business strategies and capabilities.

  • Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills with a track record of proactively taking solution ownership

    Desired Skills:

  • Strong linux and command line skills

  • Experience with scripting languages like Python and Unix Shell/Bash

  • Experience with Cloud Native Technologies in the public cloud (AWS preferred)

  • Experience developing Cloud Native applications using 12 Factor methodologies

  • Experience with security and identity best practices (OAUTH, JWT)

  • Experience using CI/CD pipelines (GIT, Bamboo, Jenkins)

  • Exposure to managing AWS resources with an emphasis in automation and scripting using CloudFormation Templates (JSON, YAML) to manage AWS environments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline preferably computer science or software development.
  • Generally 10+ years of professional development experience
  • Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Experience with layered system architectures and layered solutions; understanding of shared software concepts
  • Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of a business function(s) and of business operations. Extensive knowledge of design and development tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of architectures and technical standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs; extensive understanding of shared software concepts.
  • Proficient in multiple programming languages and tools.
  • Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
  • Negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills.
