Description Supervisor, Loss Control Hybrid Work Schedule Buffalo, NY Merchants Insurance Group is a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast and is looking for a Supervisor Loss Control to join our Loss Control team located in Buffalo, New York.

The Supervisor, Loss Control will act as a liaison amongst underwriters, in-house loss control staff, outside vendors, and agents as needed.

This individual will oversee an in-house loss control team across various regions and will ensure the quality and timeliness of completed surveys.

The supervisor will also assist in gathering any additional information that may not have been provided in the submitted surveys.

The Supervisor is responsible for providing loss control service and assistance to all colleagues, customers, and agents by maintaining a small, assigned territory.

Essential Duties and

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage in-house loss control team to ensure proper workload distribution, report quality, and timeliness of reports.

Provides training and mentorship to new colleagues, assists in the onboarding process, and serves as an ongoing technical resource for the less experienced colleagues.

Conduct quality control analysis on loss control vendors to ensure accuracy of reports as well as time service goals.

Provides underwriting/marketing support, including opinions for new lines of business, risk management guidance, newsletter articles and attend meetings.

Create an underwriting/loss control library for colleagues, agents, and policyholders to access emerging topics, classes, and lines of business.

Enhance efficiency within the Nexus loss control system or other loss control systems to allow for better productivity of staff and vendors.

Provide loss control service and assistance to all colleagues, customers, and agents by maintaining a small, assigned territory.

Supervise all staff reporting to this position.

Qualifications & Skills: Qualified candidates will have a 4-year degree or equivalent work-related experience. 10 years loss control experience. 3 years management or supervisory experience.

High level of safety and loss control experience including development of policies and procedures necessary to conduct loss control activities.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or the ability to obtain within 2 years in position.

Knowledge of industry developments and trends.

Microsoft Office knowledge as well as the ability to work with internal company systems.

Exceptional organization, verbal and written communication skills are highly desirable.

Merchants Insurance Group Pay information: Merchants Insurance Group offers a competitive pay scale.

The actual compensation will be determined based upon experience and other factors permitted by law.

The initial pay range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000.
