
Penn National Insurance is seeking a motivated and results-driven Territory Manager to join our team.
As the Territory Manager, you will serve as the key liaison between the company and agents in your designated region, working to foster strong relationships with agency partners, underwriting teams, and corporate departments.
You will be instrumental in driving profitable growth by helping agents grow their book of business and ensuring they are well-versed in our commercial and personal lines initiatives, products, and policies.
This role involves managing a premium volume of $25 $75 million and working with 40 75 agent locations.
You will have the opportunity to shape the growth and performance of the agents in your territory while ensuring adherence to company standards and goals.
Key
Responsibilities: Sales & Premium Growth: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with agents to support business growth in both volume and policy count.
Assist agents in identifying profitable business opportunities and ensuring they are aligned with Penn National Insurance's underwriting criteria.
Conduct evaluations of prospective agents and submit recommendations for approval.
Profitability & Agency Management: Profile and analyze personal lines books of business to assess profitability and guide corrective actions as needed.
Provide training and resources to agency partners on new programs, products, services, and systems.
Develop annual marketing plans for your agencies and monitor results to ensure they meet profitability goals.
Negotiation & Decision Making: Foster open and ongoing communication between agents and company teams to address concerns and optimize sales opportunities.
Make consistent underwriting decisions based on company pricing philosophies and risk analysis.
Agency Performance & Reviews: Regularly monitor agency performance to ensure compliance with company initiatives and industry standards.
Conduct agency reviews to assess performance against established goals, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Time & Priority Management: Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and participate in rate reviews as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with underwriting, claims, and corporate departments to ensure effective agency management and customer satisfaction.
Required
Qualifications:
Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree (preferred), with continued education in specialized insurance courses (IIA, AU, CPCU, CIC) and/or an active P&C license in your domiciled state.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in property/casualty commercial and/or personal multi-lines underwriting, marketing, or agency management with a P&C carrier.
Agency or broker experience with a focus on underwriting exposure/risk and marketing may be considered.
Technical Knowledge & Skills: Solid understanding of commercial and personal lines insurance, including risk analysis and underwriting processes.
Strong communication, sales, negotiation, and solution-selling skills.
Familiarity with agency and company automation systems, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Skills: Exceptional customer service abilities.
Strong financial analysis and time management skills.
Ability to travel and stay overnight as needed for field visits.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform tasks in a typical office setting and travel within the assigned territory.
Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
