Responsibilities The Trucking Specialist is responsible for investigating and resolving commercial auto liability and physical damage claims with a focus on trucking exposures.
The Adjuster is also responsible for, but not limited to: Analyze and interpret policy language to verify coverage, establish timely and adequate reserves, and consult with coverage counsel on complex or nuanced issues.
Manage a caseload of moderate to high complexity and exposure, developing and executing sound claim resolution strategies in accordance with company guidelines.
Communicate effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys, body shops, and law enforcement to gather critical information and move claims toward resolution.
Partner with defense counsel and external vendors to coordinate litigation strategy, pursue subrogation opportunities, and support recovery efforts.
Ensure all claims are handled efficiently, accurately, and in a customer-focused manner while meeting service and regulatory standards.
Participate in routine file reviews, team meetings, and ongoing training to support continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience handling commercial auto or trucking claims, with preference for bodily injury and/or cargo exposure experience.
Solid understanding of trucking operations, FMCSA/DOT regulations, and multi-jurisdictional claims practices.
Proven ability to analyze, negotiate, and resolve claims effectively while managing competing priorities.
Possession of applicable state adjuster licenses.
Juris Doctor (JD) preferred, otherwise a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in insurance, risk management, or a related field is required.
