Fraud 101

This introductory session will walk attendees through the fundamentals of insurance fraud from a defense perspective. It will cover the most common types of fraudulent claims—such as staged accidents, exaggerated injuries, inflated property losses, and misrepresented facts—and explain the red flags insurers and defense counsel should look for early in the claims process. The webinar will also outline how fraud impacts carriers, the legal tools available for investigating suspicious claims, and best practices for collaborating with SIU teams, adjusters, and defense attorneys. By the end, participants will have a solid understanding of how fraud schemes typically develop and the steps the defense side can take to identify, investigate, and challenge them effectively.
