Temporary Total Disability
Benefits when an injured worker cannot work at all for a limited period while recovering.
TTD pays a percentage of average weekly wage (often 66 2/3%) subject to min/max caps until MMI or return to work. Waiting periods may apply before benefits start.
Examples
A construction worker off work 8 weeks post-surgery receives TTD until released at MMI.
Common Misconceptions
Working under the table while collecting TTD is fraud. Confusing TTD with short-term disability private insurance.
