$13M Settlement Reached Over Fatal DUI Crash In Seattle

Wednesday, June 27th, 2018 Excess & Surplus Lines Litigation

The family of a Kokomo couple who were struck and killed in Seattle by a drunk driver five years ago have settled a wrongful-death lawsuit against the city for $13 million. Dennis and Judy Schulte had just moved to Seattle in 2013 to be closer to their son, Dan, when they were struck and killed by Mark Mullan on March 25 as they crossed a street on the city’s north side. The Schulte’s daughter in-law and 10-day-old grandson were also struck, but recovered from their injuries. Judy was a 68-year-old retired guidance director at Northwestern High School. Dennis, 66, taught math and retired from Western High School in 2006 after 33 years. He had also served as assistant coach for the school’s wrestling squad and football team.
