The Kern County Fire Department retrieved a man with a broken leg from a tank and transported him to a local hospital and confirmed that one man died in a plant accident on Wednesday. Early Wednesday morning, the fire department confirmed that two men were stuck in a 15-foot tall tank at the Live Oak Cogen plant on South Granite Road. The two men were contractors cleaning the tank after a welding project was completed. Officials said that during the clean up, something went wrong. The fire department did an aerial operation, where they sent a fireman down on a ladder to pull victims up in a rescue mission.
