Thousands of claims expected

Rainclouds from Tropical Storm Hermine have moved on, but flooded property owners will feel its effect for weeks or months. Insurance claims are expected to be in the thousands statewide, said Mark Hanna, spokesman for the Insurance Council of Texas in Austin. By Thursday afternoon, the state's largest insurer logged 2,671 property and 50 auto claims on losses caused by the storm in Texas, State Farm Insurance spokeswoman Patti Kelly said.
