12 Arrested in Investigation of Louisiana Staged Crash Ring

Louisiana State Police reported that 12 people have been arrested as the result of a 2 1/2-year investigation by Region II Criminal Investigation Division, Insurance Fraud Unit/Auto Theft Unit – Monroe Field Office. The 12 subjects are accused of participating in staged vehicle crash rings that spanned across several north Louisiana parishes. The LSP said the investigations, which began in May 2008, revealed the Kimble family of Athens, La., and several other individuals were staging vehicle crashes in the north Louisiana over a five-year period.
