Man is arrested on auto insurance fraud charges

A man who claimed his truck was stolen from a restaurant in Fontana was arrested April 27 for allegedly committing auto insurance fraud, according to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. Ruben Colunga, 37, of San Bernardino was taken into custody by San Bernardino police officers for an outstanding arrest warrant on felony insurance fraud charges. Colunga was interviewed by investigators from the D.A.’s Auto Insurance Fraud Unit and transported to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Central Detention Center, where he was booked for the $50,000 warrant.
