KC Fire SUV Involved In Crash On Way To Call

A Kansas City fire battalion chief’s SUV was involved in a collision as it responded to a house fire call in the 8800 block of Lane Avenue on Monday morning. A Chevrolet Impala hit the Ford Explorer and a black SUV at 87th Street and James A. Reed Road about 8:40 a.m. Police said the battalion chief’s SUV was traveling east on 87th Street with its lights and sirens activated when it was struck by the Impala, which was traveling south on James A. Reed Road. Police said the force of the collision pushed the SUV into a black SUV that was stopped at the light.
