Tornado Causes Damage In Northeast Philadelphia

The National Weather Service confirms a tornado is responsible for causing damage to buildings in Northeast Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon. The strong storms that barreled through parts of the Delaware Valley left some areas with flash flooding. The National Weather Service (NWS) confirms an EF zero tornado touched down in the 9900 block of Northeast Avenue in Bustleton, destroying a building that houses four businesses. According to the NWS, the damaging winds were estimated at 75 miles-per-hour and were about 100 feet wide. The tornado was on the ground for about 300 feet.
