California counties will receive $3.2 million in grant funding to fight fraudulent insurance claims, the state’s Department of Insurance announced Thursday. The money will go to district attorney’s offices across California to investigate and prosecute life, health, disability and annuities insurance fraud, said Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones in a statement. Much of the funding was awarded to the state’s largest counties, among them, Alameda, Los Angeles, Orange, Santa Clara and San Diego.
