All Lanes Of Eastbound I-40 Reopen Following Semi Crash

Monday, August 29th, 2011 Auto

The driver of a semi that crashed over the rail of eastbound I-40 near downtown this morning was safely rescued by Oklahoma City Firefighters Friday morning. The semi crashed around 8 a.m., leaving the truck hanging over the side of a bridge at I-40 and Lincoln, and trapping the semi’s driver in the cab. State troopers say it appears an SUV cut the semi off, causing the semi and at least five other vehicles to crash. Emergency crews were worried the vibration from the traffic would cause the truck to go over the edge, since it was barely hanging on.
