Monday, October 3rd, 2011 Workers' Compensation

A repairman spent the night in intensive care at the hospital Thursday after fainting and getting trapped 14 feet underground in a manhole outside a West Bridgewater car repair shop. Gus Futyma, 51, an employee of Williamson Electric Motor Service, was repairing a broken valve in a septic pump chamber when he passed out. His partner, his brother-in-law Jay, said Futyma had been in the well for less than 10 minutes when he said he couldn’t breathe.
