A 9-year-old child was taken to a hospital after crashing a car into a tree in northeast Philadelphia on Sunday. The incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say the child was driving his parents 1999 Chevy Malibu when the car slammed into a tree. "The car went up in the air first, and then it turned and came down on the wheels and it was awful," Constance Whitfield, a neighbor, said. "I jumped up and went over, I didnt see anybody...he was slumped over the wheel." The youth was taken to St. Christophers Hospital. The victims condition is unknown at this time.
