Fire out after explosion at South Side refinery

Firefighters have put out a fire at a South Side refinery following an explosion there Wednesday afternoon. The explosion happened around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the NuStar Refinery at Southeast Military and South Presa. A spokesperson for the San Antonio Fire Department said a type of diesel jet fuel was burning. Crews used an extinguisher system at the refinery to help put out the fire. Workers were evacuated from buildings at the refinery, and no injuries have been reported.
