Train and snow plow collide in Hendricks County

A snow plow driver was taken by medical helicopter to St. VIncent Hospital in Indianapolis Wednesday morning after a train collided with the plow truck. Hendricks County oficials said 65-year-old Richard Layman, of Danville, was northbound on County Road 151 North when he approached a stop sign at a railroad crossing just west of Lizton. The conductor of a CSX train said he saw Layman slow the plow, but not stop before proceeding onto the tracks. The train traveling westbound at 45 mph hit the plow truck, causing significant damage.
