Bird Bombs injure Tallahassee workers

Two City of Tallahassee employees are injured during an explosion. It happened about 8:00am on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 close to the sewer plant on Capital Circle SW, near the Tallahassee Regional Airport. ABC27 has confirmed the two people injured are Ronald Wade McKenzie and Doris "Pat" Brown. According to City of Tallahassee spokesperson Michelle Bono, McKenzie and Brown were setting off pyrotechnics to scare away birds near the airport, but when they set off the incendiary device, wind blew sparks to other explosives in a box nearby, setting off an explosion.
