Park officials repairing water damage at pro shop

Kewanee Park District officials are working to repair extensive water damage to the Baker Park pro shop and 19th Hole restaurant so that the facility can be ready for the opening of golf season. At Wednesday’s Kewanee Park Board meeting, Brian Johnson, director of parks and recreation, said the building was extensively damaged last month when a heater failed, causing a water pipe to break. The break occurred on a Friday, Johnson said, and when park employees entered the building on Monday they found about a foot of water covering the first floor, Johnson said.
