Truck driver dies after fiery collision with train in Bartow

The driver of a fuel tanker truck has died after colliding with a train this morning. The morning crash sent flames and smoke into the air and closed State Road 60 in Bartow, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said. The victim wasn’t identified. A positive identification won’t be released until Thursday when the medical examiner’s office is expected to complete its autopsy, the sheriff’s office said. The crash occurred on the 2800 block of State Road 60, near Bonnie Mine Road, the sheriff’s office said.
