Texas Tornado Outbreak Insurance Claims Top $300 Million

The tornadoes and hailstorms that caused scattered devastation last week in North Texas have led to claims of more than $300 million so far and claims could eventually top $500 million, the Austin-based Southwestern Insurance Information Service said in a statement Monday. The association said the estimates are based on homeowner and auto claims filed so far by its member companies.
