Storms cause fires, outages across Montgomery County

Numerous fires, fallen trees and downed power lines caused by heavy thunderstorms that swept through the area Tuesday afternoon kept emergency crews across Montgomery County busy late into the night. By 5 p.m., 16,101 Entergy Texas customers throughout Montgomery County were without power. Entergy Texas repair crews continued their efforts to restore power to business and residential customers. By 5:45, the number of customers without power was just over 9,000 customers. But at 7 p.m., the FM 1488 Corridor — from Interstate 45 to the city of Magnolia remained without lights.
