KTLA’s Sky5 Makes Emergency Landing in Hollywood

KTLA’s Sky5 helicopter became the big story on Monday when it began pouring out smoke and had to make an emergency landing in Hollywood. Pilot Tim Lynn and cameraman Jeff Laabs were over breaking news during KTLA’s 6 p.m. newscast when Sky5’s engine began to malfunction. Smoke filled the cockpit, and the KCBS/KCAL helicopter captured the dramatic emergency landing in a vacant parking lot at Highland Boulevard and Franklin Avenue.
