A 38-year-old Beaverton driver dangled from a bridge several feet above Highway 217 for nearly an hour after his pickup truck crashed through a guard rail. Matthew Alan Hamilton was hospitalized Saturday afternoon after firefighters plucked him from the hanging truck using a ladder with a basket. Beaverton police say he was arrested for DUI and would be taken to jail when he leaves the hospital. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. The crash shut down part of the busy roadway for several hours until the truck could be removed with a large crane.
