The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a deadly accident on I-35 involving more than 30 vehicles. Two people are confirmed dead in the accident, which happened at the 150 mile marker in the southbound lanes of I-35 just northeast of Webster City. The identities of the crash victims have not been released. The Iowa State Patrol says low visibility because of blowing snow meant drivers couldn’t see vehicles that had slowed or stopped in front of them, causing a chain reaction accident. Roads covered in snow and ice also contributed to the accident.
