Florida man gets time served for evading police while DUI on horse

A man accused of riding a horse through Bunnell in September and eluding police before climbing onto railroad tracks west of U.S. 1 pleaded no contest Tuesday to obstructing an officer without violence and interfering with railroad tracks or equipment and was sentenced to time served. Meanwhile, the state dropped charges of fleeing or attempting to elude and animal cruelty against Charles Larkin Cowart, 29, according to an email from Klare Ly, public information officer for the 7th Circuit State Attorney’s Office.
