Crews knock down fire at computer lab at Rice Elementary School in Chula Vista

Firefighters on Sunday knocked down a fire at Rice Elementary School in Chula Vista. The fire was reported in the computer lab at the school in the 900 block of Fourth Avenue just before 8 a.m Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the computer lab and had the fire knocked down at about 8:12 a.m. No injuries were reported. The ceiling of the computer lab sustained heavy damage. Some computers were partially melted due to the heat of the fire. A monetary estimate of the damage was not immediately available.
