First responders are on the scene of a reported industrial explosion and fire along the Minnesota River in Shakopee. Calls started coming in to Scott County Sheriffs and Shakopee Police dispatchers shortly before 1 p.m. Shakopee Police confirm that callers were reporting an explosion in the vicinity of Rahr Malting and Koda Energy. KARE 11 reporter Lindsey Seavert says that the explosion was in a tank at Koda Energy, a biomass fuel company co-owned by Rahr Malting and the Mdewakanton Sioux. The planted is located in the same compound as the Rahr Malting complex.
