Bear destroys Lake County woman’s vehicle

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission workers say a bear got into a Lake County woman’s car and ripped apart the interior before finally escaping. The woman discovered her damaged car on Tuesday, long after the bear left. Pictures given to Local 6 by wildlife officials show seats torn off, parts of the frame bent or pulled off, holes punched into the interior and debris thrown around the car.

State wildlife workers don’t know how the bear got into the car, however, they believe the animal was attracted to food left inside the vehicle.

Workers say the bear likely panicked once inside the car, causing extensive damage while trying to find a way out.

Neighbors tell Local 6 the same bear killed at least one pig in the days before the car was destroyed.
