Seven people arrested in staged accident scheme

Officials said seven people were arrested in an alleged insurance fraud scheme involving a staged auto accident in Guilford County. The suspects allegedly conspired to defraud American Family Insurance Company of several thousand dollars by submitting fraudulent documentation in support of insurance claims for injuries caused by a staged motor vehicle accident on Dec. 3, 2012. The case was investigated by the Department of Insurance and the Gibsonville Police Department.
