Insurance carriers cracking down on fraudulent windshield claims in Arizona

Major insurance carriers are now requiring more in-person inspections of windshield damages in Arizona as they try to reduce replacement claims and costs. The inspections are on the rise and aim to weed out unnecessary — sometimes fraudulent — windshield claims filed by replacement businesses. But they are headaches for consumers who have to wait longer for repairs because they have to set up inspections. Arizona is one of several U.S. states with zero-deductible and no-fault rules written into its insurance laws. Almost all major insurance carriers are conducting the inspections in Arizona and other states after what they view as a wave of windshield claims in recent years.
