Firefighters extinguish fire at steelworks plant

Firefighters were dispatched to an Anderson County steel manufacturer Monday morning to battle a fire. Anderson County dispatchers said the fire was reported at Steelworks of the Carolinas off of McNeely Road in the Powdersville-Piedmont area. They said firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and no one was injured. FOX Carolina crews at the scene said a machine caught fire and crews were there to help get the smoke out of the building.
