Severe weather that brought three tornadoes and large hail to North Texas last week are estimated to have caused $300 million in insured losses. The Insurance Council of Texas estimates that nearly 24,000 vehicles and 12,000 homes were damaged in the area by the storm that hit on Thursday, April 3. Softball-sized hail was reported in Denton, leaving a number of car windshields broken and vehicle bodies damaged.“Whenever you have golf ball sized hail or larger, you’re going to have damage to cars; you’re going to have damage to roofs,” said ICT spokesman Mark Hanna.
