Pickup truck crashes into Calif. Denny’s restaurant

A pickup truck crashed through the front wall of a Denny’s restaurant in Riverside, leaving the passenger visibly shaken and the building temporarily closed. The accident happened about 5 p.m. Monday, June 2, at 2955 Van Buren Blvd., north of Lincoln Avenue and about a half-mile from Highway 91. The truck ended up more than halfway inside the building. And the impact sent the left side of the Denny’s sign crashing to the ground. An elderly man and woman were inside the truck at the time of the accident.
